Properties: White to off-white powder; odorless
Solubility : very slightly soluble, slightly soluble in n-hexane
Melting Range: 107 - 112¡ã C
Applications:
Chemical Family: Macrolide antibiotic
Therapeutic Category: Antibacterial (veterinary)
Composition: Pure Material
Storage: Keep in lightproof, airproof and dry place Packing: In 25kg drums with plastic inner.
Mutagenicity Data: Tilmicosin tested negative for reverse mutation in bacteria, forward mutation in cultured animal cells, unscheduled
DNA synthesis in primary cultures of rat hepatocytes, and in in-vivo cytogenic assays.
Reproductive and Developmental Effects: Tilmicosin did not affect fertility or reproduction in rats administered up to 200
mg/kg/day. Growth and development were not affected in the fetuses of pregnant rats
administered up to 500 mg/kg/day by gavage, but there was a slight increase in pup
mortality in the litters of rats given 200 mg/kg/day.
Ecological Information: Practically non-toxic to fish, birds, earthworms, fungus, moulds, soil bacteria, and most plants. Slightly toxic to aquatic invertebrates. Moderately toxic to nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Highly toxic to green algae and blue-green algae. No volatility expected. Low potential to bioconcentrate in aquatic organisms. Low mobility in soil. Persistent in the soil environment. Persistence in the aquatic environment not expected due to rapid photolysis.
